Latin America’s most famous father figure with a mustache and a blue hat will become a series! Seu Madruga, from “Chaves”, will have his own series in the form of a live-action spin-off. The announcement was made by THR3 Media Group, which now holds the copyright to Roberto Gómez Bolaños’ creation and is already preparing several new features for the franchise.
The character, played by the eternal Ramón Valdés, is one of the most beloved by fans of the series, and now, decades after the end of the original recordings and the actor’s death, his story will be told in an updated version.

The company has not yet revealed who will give life to the new version of Seu Madruga – nor if it will be an extension of the original series, with the possible participation of other characters – but new information should be announced soon.

During the LA Screenings event in Los Angeles, THR3 showcased other new projects for the franchise, including the return of the cartoon version of “Chaves” and an animation about Chapolin Colorado.
Bolaños will be awarded with a bibliographic series
THR3 is also preparing a bibliographic series on the trajectory of the late creator, which will be based on the bibliographic book Sin Querer Queriendo” (2006). With eight chapters, the production is expected to be released in late 2024 and early 2025 by HBO Max.
