The actor and Oscar winner died on Thursday (29). Little Miss Sunshine, Alan Arkin. The artist, who played Edwin Hoover in the comedy-drama, was 89 years old and died at his home in Carlsbad, California, as reported by Variety. The cause of death has not been disclosed.

Furthermore Little Miss Sunshine (2006), Arkin was also known for his work on A high-risk marriage (1979) – one of the most famous comedies of the time -, Edward scissor hands (nineteen ninety), Marly & I (2008) e Farewell in style (2017). She also received two more Academy Award nominations for The Russians are coming, the Russians are comingsince 1967, e The heart is a lonely huntersince 1969.
Most recently, he also received Primetime Emmy Award nominations for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series for the Netflix series. The Kominsky methodin which she starred alongside Michael Douglas.
With a film career spanning seven decades, Arkin was primarily known for his comedic performances. Recognized early in his professional career in the mid-1950s and 1960s, he never left television, despite his success in film. In addition to those already mentioned, the actor has won several other awards.
In addition to his three children, Arkin is survived by his third wife, Suzanne Newlander Arkin, whom he married in 1999.
