Aired more than two and a half years ago on TF1, Here It All Begins, the very first episode that followed Maxime’s (Clément Remien) first steps at the Auguste Armani Institute almost brought a major twist that fans had no doubt about. He spoke for a long time.
On November 2, 2020, This Is Where It All Begins, viewers witnessed the awkward reunion of Maxime and Salome (Aurelie Ponsi) after their first flirtation in Tomorrow Belongs to Us and meet Eliot (Nicolas Anselmo), Hortense (Catherine Davidzenka), Greg. (Mikael Mittelstadt) or Louis (Fabian Wolfrom).
But while this inaugural episode already ended on a surprising cliffhanger – Maxime found out that Salome Louis was engaged and that he was going to marry her in a few days – the writers of the cooking series originally planned an even crazier finale. What started the story here, it all starts in a completely different direction.
The first episode was originally supposed to end with Auguste’s suicide.
he asked TV starSeries producer Sarah Farrahmand actually revealed that early versions of the script ended with the suicide of Auguste Armand, played by Frances Haster!
“In the first versions of the series, the first episode ended with the death of Auguste. He jumped from the office balcony window”The producer confided in our colleagues before explaining why the writers abandoned the idea in the end.
“We realized that if her death was going to have any consequences, we needed to have time to connect with her, to show the connections she could have with different characters.”. That’s why the writers of Here It All Begins decided to wait until episode 35 to introduce the death of the school principal, who ended up with a heart attack.
It’s an unexpected twist, since Francis Huster was introduced as Here It All Begins as one of the stars that featured Souls and that fans still remember.
“It’s great to have Francis Huster join us, everyone remembers Auguste Armand”continues Sarah Farahmandi at the microphone of our colleagues. “There are 35 episodes left, we’re at 700 and it’s still on everyone’s mind. Some characters have been around a lot longer and we remember them a lot less. (…) We had an incredible chance that he accepted the role.”.
Auguste is back this summer. This is where it all begins
Although the first plot of “This is where it all begins” took the place of Salome’s marriage, but also the harassment that Noémi (Lucia Passanitti) was subjected to by Teissier (Benjamin Barochet), her irreconcilable and toxic mentor, so the first episodes failed. Focus on the mystery of Augustus’ suicide and more emphasis on the Armand clan from the start.
The good news for fans is that Frances Huster will return this summer as part of the Summer Intrigue series, which will begin in mid-July and reveal an unexpected new mystery buried in Auguste’s past.
Indeed, in this new event arc, which will also see the return of another historical character from the series, Auguste Armand will appear again on the screen in the recently wrapped flashback sequences, for which Francis Huster specially filmed Vanessa Demoy with Elsa. Lungini.
This should add to the excitement of fans of the series, who will no doubt be there all summer watching Here It All Begins, Monday to Friday at 6.30pm on TF1.
