New Zealand actor Russell Crowe, who played Maximus in ‘Gladiator’, seems not to be too happy with his association with the film’s sequel. As natural as this movement is, the actor is keen to emphasize that his character is no longer part of the plot. “He has nothing to do with me. In that world, I died. Six feet under the ground,” he said.
Crowe’s statements demonstrating discomfort with questions about the film occurred during the International Film Festival in Karlovy Vary, Czech Republic. “They should pay me for the amount of questions I get about a film I’m not even a part of,” said the actor, according to Variety.
I don’t know anything about the cast, the plot. I’m dead! But I know if Ridley [o diretor] decided to make a second part of the story more than 20 years later, he must have good reason. I can’t imagine this movie being anything but spectacular.
