Licenses for cars, light commercial vehicles, trucks and buses in June increased by 6.46% compared to the same period last year, to 189,528 units, according to data released on Tuesday by the dealers’ association, Fenabrave.

Compared to May, registrations increased by 7.39%, according to the body, while the cumulative number of the first six months of the year stood at 998,270 units, with an increase of 8.76% compared to the first half of 2022 .

The increase comes on the heels of the federal government’s stimulus program for the auto sector, launched in early June, which offers discounts for the purchase of new vehicles.
