After Hot Wheels’ live-action announcement, we still don’t have much information about it.
What was known until then is that the production is by JJ Abrams and that screenwriters Dalton Leeb and Nicholas Jacobson-Larson would write the plot.
“We’ve been talking about Hot Wheels for a long time and we just couldn’t find the right fit that made it worthy of what this title deserved,” said Ynon Kreiz, CEO of Mattel, recalling the meeting Abrams was hosting. “So we created something…exciting and realistic and gritty.”
