Please note, the following returns to the plot of the first three episodes of the Secret Invasion series available on Disney+. If you haven’t seen them and don’t want to know anything about their content, I suggest you stop reading this article now.
Hide this Skrull can not see! The Secret Invasion series, a new product from Marvel Studios, immerses fans of the superhero franchise in an espionage plot as Nick Fury finds himself facing a Skrull terrorist network led by iconic leader Gravik (Kingsley Ben-Adir).
In this case, new faces join the MCU, including Emilia Clarke and Olivia Colman, while actors who have already appeared in the franchise are signed to return, such as Samuel L. Jackson and Ben Mendelsohn (Talos), or even Don Cheadle. Colonel James Rhodes’ interpreter finds himself at the center of a plausible fan theory.
For many Internet users, Rhodes, who appeared in the series Secret Invasion, is not an Avenger as we know him, but rather a Skrull. Remember that these aliens have the ability to change their appearance, a power that allowed them to easily blend into the mass of humanity.
“Everybody Call Me Fury”
In the second episode of Secret Invasion, many fans were surprised that Colonel Rhodes defiantly handed Nick Fury over to the Russian authorities. Of course, the relationship between the Avengers and the former director of SHIELD is not in good shape, but this extreme decision does not fit the character’s personality.
Another moment that caught the attention of Internet users: the fact that Rhodes calls Nick Fury by name. However, as Fury himself recalls in episode 3, “Nobody Calls Nick”. In doing so, did Rhodes inadvertently spill the beans about his true nature?
James Rhodes called Nick Fury “Nick”.

Fury reminds us that no one calls him Nick, which makes me even more suspicious of Rod from last episode. Also was he holding the child at gunpoint???? He is so desperate to win this war oh my god #Secret Invasion pic.twitter.com/zmTX1XZ7VJ

Finally, if Episode 3, which aired this week on Disney+, didn’t confirm this theory, the voice heard on the phone at the end of the episode by Nick’s wife, Priscilla Fury, appears to be Rhodes’ voice.
So everything points to the fact that after Everett Ross, another iconic MCU character could turn out to be a Skrull clone…
