MTV Movie and TV Awards: Jennifer Lopez Receives Emotional Generation Award

Jennifer Lopez was thrilled to receive the Generation Award at the 2022 MTV Movie & TV Awards.

“I watch these movies and I see all the wonderful people I’ve met and worked with. “You’re only as good as the people you work with,” López said in a speech after editing clips from his films. “And if you’re lucky, they’ll get better. And I was very lucky in that sense. “As an actress, I’m not one of the women I’ve played, but it’s part of something that fits perfectly with each of these characters.”

He added: “And because you can’t create the truth unless you’ve actually lived it, I have a different thank you list tonight. I want to thank all the people who gave me this life. I want to thank the people who gave me joy. And who broke my heart. Who was right and who lied to me. I want to thank you for true love. And I want to thank you so much for lying to myself because that’s how I knew I needed to grow up. I want to thank frustration and failure for teaching me to be strong and my children for teaching me to love. I want to thank all the people who told me face to face or when I wasn’t in the room that I couldn’t. I really don’t think I could do this without you! And I know I couldn’t do it without the fans.”

He then thanked his manager, Benny Medina, whom he said was “the true meaning of walk or die”.
