In Indiana Jones and the Dial of Fortune, in theaters from June 28, Harrison Ford bids farewell to the famous saga by embarking on the fifth and final quest. At the age of 80, the American actor in an archaeologist’s suit is not the only one who returned to the James Mangold film.
Indeed, we can also meet John Rhys-Davies, Salah’s translator, who has already shared Indy’s adventures in the first and third parts.
But in the film’s final scene (which is also the last scene shot by Harrison Ford), another big figure in the saga stands out: Karen Allen, aka Marion Ravenwood, Indy’s great love.
The one who helped the archeologist find the Ark of the Covenant in the first opus before marrying him in the fourth indeed returned for a scene full of tenderness that directly refers to the mythic moment of the saga.
However, as he recently said at the microphone varietyKaren Allen originally hoped to play a more prominent role in this fifth installment:
“I don’t know if I ever imagined we’d pick up where we left off, but I always thought it would be a story where Indy and Marion progressed together.”– said the actor.
“When Stephen The movie was directed, I think the scripts were more Indy/Marion story oriented. But when Stephen retired and James It happened, it started from scratch with new writers and they went in a different direction.”
Despite this change, Karen Allen also explained that she was happy to be able to share with Harrison Ford for the last section, at the end of this fifth part:
“I was so happy that Marion would be back at least at the end of their story. If this is indeed the last film in this saga – if this is the last story with Harrison in Indy and me in Marion – I was so happy that they were finally back together. It meant a lot to me, because Feeling like they were going to ride off into the sunset together.”
