The “Supernatural 5” soundtrack features actor Patrick Wilson’s duet with the band Ghost

The Swedish band Ghost released this Friday (7/7) the song “Stay”, a duet with actor and director Patrick Wilson. The single is a cover of the Shakespears duo’s 1992 hit Sister, and is featured on the soundtrack of the new horror film “Insidious: The Red Door”, fifth in the “Insidious” series.

In addition to playing the lead, Patrick Wilson makes his directorial debut in the film. An avowed Ghost fan, Wilson met with frontman Tobias Forge to discuss the band’s participation in the film. Forge, who was already working on a 1990s retelling, invited Wilson, who is classically trained in Broadway singing, to duet on “Stay.” The result of the recording, according to the band, was “incredible”.

Choosing Ghost for the score, Wilson said, “I wanted a band that embodied the spirit of ‘Supernatural’ and I knew where to find them. ‘Stay’ is an incredibly beautiful song to end the film with because the dark juxtaposition of the lyrics with the rousing melody, composed by Dave Stewart, makes a great conclusion to the film. Singing the song, along with Tobias, was very emotional.”

disco and concerts

“Stay” will be included in the extended version of the album “Impera”, which will be officially released on July 28 and is already available for pre-order. The disc also includes the song “Hunter’s Moon”, which the band recorded in the soundtrack of the film “Halloween Kills”.

For Brazilian fans, the band has two concerts scheduled in São Paulo, at the Espaço Unimed, on 20 and 21 September.

“Insidious: The Red Door”

Released Thursday (7/5) in Brazilian theaters, the fifth film in the horror franchise takes place 13 years after the events of the original film and returns the focus to the original family, the Lamberts, with Josh (Wilson), Renai (Rose Byrne, “Neighbours”) and his son Dalton (Ty Simpkins, recently seen in “The Whale”) face new and more daunting problems.

It is worth mentioning that while the first two films featured the Lamberts as the main characters, the third and fourth focused on parapsychologist Elise Rainier (Lin Shaye). In the storyline, Josh is entering college when he vaguely recalls being haunted in his childhood. As the visions of him become clearer, terror also draws closer and makes the family decide to put an end to all the secrets to face everything that haunts them.
