In order to attract viewers who may have been put off watching the series due to recent events, Netflix adopted a soothing marketing strategy to ensure the series topped the most-watched series charts.
As most fans know by now, Henry Cavill has left the show and will not be playing the titular character in season four. The actor announced the news in October after the end of the third season, and Liam Hemsworth has a difficult task to replace him. His on-screen partner, Anna Chalotra, is still struggling to accept the news.
After the release of the third season on June 28, American magazine Forbes commented that billboards promoting the series noted Henry Cavill’s impending departure, but as fans believed Hemsworth’s version of the character would be less convincing.
The phrase used is:Yes, he’s still Geralt in Season 3“, which was also posted by the show’s official Twitter page, with the caption: “Just in case you need a reminder“.
The quote suggests that people might stop watching the show after Henry Cavill’s departure, which will no doubt make Liam Hemsworth even more nervous about taking his place when filming begins on season four.
