Pretty Little Liars: What Happened to Paige’s Translator Lindsay Shaw?

Why did Paige suddenly disappear from Pretty Little Liars? Actress Lindsey Shaw addressed the reasons for her departure and also noted her return for several episodes in the series’ final season. And to hear this, he was going through hell at the time:
