Netflix now has the same strategy for all of its big hits: cutting up seasons and streaming them in two parts.
After The Witcher, La Défense Lincoln, the series based on the novels by Michael Connelly, has the right to do so. So, if you were surprised that Season 2 of The Legal Series contained “only” 5 episodes, that’s because the platform didn’t put them all online. So you’ll have to wait until August 3rd to find Mickey (Manuel Garcia-Rulfo), the “sexiest” lawyer on the East Coast.
However, we can blame Netflix’s lack of communication regarding the broadcast of Season 2, as there is no mention anywhere on the platform that The Lincoln Defense will be split into two parts. Especially since episode 5 ends with a typical season-ending cliffhanger…
Spoiler alert
In the final moments of episode 5, Mickey is violently attacked by two men in his parking lot (the very spot where his predecessor was killed). If we don’t know who they are, it’s a safe bet that they’re connected to the Armenian mafia. The lawyer and his team did discover that Mitchell Bondurant was in business with him and that things were going very badly.
The two hoodlums may also have paid Henry Dahl (Matt Angel), the podcaster who saved Lisa (once Lana Parilla), for the right to adapt his story. The time between Mickey’s attack and the disappearance of his contract may raise questions.
Either way, we need to find out in The Lincoln Defense Season 2, Part 2 who killed Bondurant and how they managed to frame Lisa Trammell…if she’s innocent.
