Redmi Note 12S vs Galaxy A34: which battery lasts longer?
OR Galaxy A34 it has a slightly longer battery life, according to the test carried out by Canaltech. The forecast of total cell phone usage by SAMSUNG remained in 24 hours, while the Redmi Notes 12s stayed at 22 hours. A small difference for testing, but can be a good advantage in the “real world”.
Only that the test done here in Canaltech is more demanding than the more common use. That’s six hours of use with videos, games and social networks, with about 60% of screen time on. It’s very rare that someone spends so much time with their screen on in a day. To give you an idea, it would be like spending 14 hours and 24 minutes using your mobile phone with the display active in the space of 24 hours.

Also, a human usually sleeps an average of eight hours a day. That is, a little more than an hour of this person’s waking time is left for the cell phone to be on standby. It’s a lot for a smartphone to be active, so I consider the test quite challenging and it serves more to compare devices against each other.
Overall, you can imagine the Galaxy A34 lasting about two days without needing a grip, with a granddaughter. The Redmi Note 12S, on the other hand, may need energy savings to arrive alive, precisely, at the end of the second day. But that really depends on your usage.
There is also the possibility that the opposite may happen for you: the Redmi Note 12S will last a little longer than the Galaxy A34. The certainty is that both last a whole day with practically any type of requirement.
Technical specifications
There’s not much secret in the battery spec sheets of the two devices. Both carry a charge capacity of 5,000mAh. The difference in usage time is mainly explained by the processor and the screen. The Galaxy A34 has a cheaper chip, but a bigger screen.
Samsung’s mobile has a 6.6-inch display, against the 6.43-inch Redmi Note 12S. And, despite the faster processor, it has a more advanced manufacturing process. So it’s more energy efficient, so you can do more with less energy.
Since both models have an OLED screen, the advantage is for the cheaper platform. Furthermore, software optimization can also make a small contribution. Although the MIUI of Xiaomi being generally more efficient than One UI, the smaller, more efficient chip seems to trump everything else.
