Miss Marvel: What power does the new hero of the Disney + series have?

Everybody calls him Miss Marvel, but his real name is Kamala Khan! This Wednesday, June 8, the Disney + platform will release the first episode of Marvel’s new series, following in the footsteps of the young Avengers fan – and especially after the adventures of Captain Marvel – allowing him to realize his most cherished dream. Expensive: Becoming a superhero yourself.

In an interview with a British magazine EmpireMarvel Studios boss Kevin Page has returned with the arrival of the first Muslim heroine in the franchise. In this case, the producer was able to discuss his powers, but also the differences between the series and Marvel comics, from which he adapted MCU movies and series:

We adapt comics, but this is not an exact transposition. Kamala came in comics in a very specific context. And this happens in the MCU as well as in a specific context and these two contexts are not really identical.

Kevin Feig was also able to discuss Kamala Khan’s powers during this interview. If a young woman does not have the same gifts as the gifts of her idol Captain Marvel, the producer still explained what her cosmic powers consist of:

What we learn about where its powers come from and what it consists of is specific to the MCU. (…) If you want to see giant hands and arms, you will see them in mental form and not as some kind of plastic extension.

Introduced in Marvel Comics in 2014, Kamala Khan receives cosmic gifts that allow him to change the size of his limbs; Unlike ant-men, who can change the proportions of the whole body, a young woman can choose which part of the body to enlarge, a gift that brings her closer to a certain red Richard of the Fantastic Four. Also note that in comics, Kamala has the power of self-healing.
