New Bird Box and the “Japanese version” of the telenovela Avenida Brasil are the highlights of the week on Netflix; see all previews
In a very atypical week marked by cyclones in Brazil and strikes in the United States, one thing remains unchanged: the quality of the previews of Netflix. Streaming continues to put a lot of emphasis on its release slate and make very strong reinforcements to its catalog, both with its own productions and with the blockbusters that are arriving on the platform to warm up this cold week.
The big addition in this regard is the film Birdhouse Barcelona, spin-off of the 2018 feature film starring Sandra Bullock, who was one of the great phenomena of the service. While don’t count on the actress in the cast — and, therefore, being a derivative story and not exactly a sequel —, the new production focuses on the charm of this post-apocalyptic world and on the idea of monsters who go crazy for the look with which to try to transform the story into a franchise.
The hype around the launch was a little less than expected by Netflix, but the truth is that these stories of survival and perrengue always work very well. Furthermore, the film has a very interesting cast, including Mario Casas (a setback) and Georgina Campbell (brutal nights).
Another good news that arrives in the catalog is the drama Consumed by fire, which brings a story of revenge to the way we love it. The plot revolves around a young woman who seeks revenge after her mother is blamed for a fire that she did not commit. So 13 years later, she assumes another identity to infiltrate her stepmother’s house to bring down the real culprits. Yes, she is the Avenue Brazil Japan: what does it do to deserve its presence in the list of the most anticipated series of july.
Closing the hat-trick of highlights, the trendy Panic finally got to streaming. The fifth chapter of famous slasher series it was not numbered, as the idea is precisely to act as a gateway to a new audience. And the attempt to renew the saga has worked very well, with an intense storyline and an incredible cast — including Jenna Ortega, our Wandinha.
Of course, these are just some of the new features that have come to streaming. Check out everything that has arrived on Netflix in the last week and secure your next play.
