Jaguar’s New Zealand driver Mitch Evans won this Saturday’s (15th) chaotic Formula E race in Rome, Italy’s capital, marred by an impressive crash.
The dispute was interrupted by a rear-end collision involving eight cars, one of which belonged to the Brazilian driver Lucas di Grassi.
No one was injured in the clashes.
After clearing the track, the restart saw just 12 cars, and Evans won, taking his third successive win, followed by Nick Cassidy, for Envision Racing, – the new championship leader – and Maximilian Gunther, for Maserati. The Brazilian Sérgio Sette Câmara was in ninth place.
“It was a difficult race, but despite the mistakes everything worked, thanks also to the change of strategy in the race. Furthermore, tomorrow will be very difficult because everyone is very tired,” Evans admitted to Sport Mediaset after the race.
