Netflix: The first photo of the new Nikki Larson without Philip Lashaw

We revealed it to you last December, after One Piece and My Hero Academia, it was Niki Larsson’s turn to be the subject of Netflix’s live-action remake directly inspired by the iconic manga. City of Hunter By Tsukasa Hojo.

City of Hunter Follows the adventures of “pure” Ryo Saeba (Nikki Larson) in Tokyo, who must join forces with Kaori Makimura, the younger sister of her ex-partner, who has been executed by a drug cartel. As we read in the synopsis of the upcoming film, they will try to find out the truth together, thus creating a new duo. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the adaptation will be “an updated, modern take on the manga set in the busy streets of the Shinjuku district.”

Directed by Yuichi Sato, the film will feature Ryohei Suzuki as Ryo Saeba and Misato Morita as Kaori Makimura, both of which you can watch below:

In France, an animated series called Nicky Larson ran from October 1990 to April 1995 on the Club Dorothée show. Since then, it has continued to be repeated on several channels and the show is now available on the MYTF1 platform.

A true cult series for an entire generation, the anime was not always unanimous and had to be modified for younger audiences due to the sultry nature of the original work. But none of that stopped him from hitting us up.

This new City Hunter film will be the manga’s first adaptation in its native Japanese language, after two foreign adaptations: Niki Larson (1993) with Jackie Chan and Nikki Larson, and Perfume of Cupid (2019), with Philip and. Lasho.

Netflix’s Nicki Larson adaptation is set to see the light of day on the platform in 2024.
