Watchmen: For Patrick Wilson, Zack Snyder’s feature film paved the way for the Avengers films

It was during an interview with ReelBlend (via Deadline ) that Patrick Wilson reflected on his experience with Watchmen – The Guardians, Zack Snyder’s 2009 superhero film based on the DC Comics characters.

Watchmen is the only movie of mine that I’ve watched cover to cover – it’s amazing. I just wanted to see him as an older guy, as a filmmaker. I knew Zach was ahead. It is strange to say that society was not ready for this. But you need a movie like this. You need the movies to be so dark that The Avengers is so light. I believe that.

The actor also said that he “loved doing this movie right now” and that it would be “so cool” to be back in the world. Look at the men.
