In anticipation of his Pinocchio, Guillermo del Toro Introducing a selection of evil stories, each of which is more terrifying than the other, in its own horror anthology Cabinet of Curiosities. It was almost four years since the project was announced before we had the first images in this series that bring to life lesser-known fairy tales, some of which are based on works by HP Lovecraft.
The famous and Oscar-winning director did his best for this project, both in writing and directing, with the talent he chose, e.g. Vincenzo Natalie (Cube), Jennifer Kent (Babaduki), David Prior (Empty Man), Anna Lily Amirpur (Girl Walks Home Alone at Night), Catherine Hardwick (Twilight), Panos Cosmatos (Mandy), David S. Goyer (Dark Knight).
On the casting side are also beautiful people, including Andrew Lincoln (The Walking Dead), Rupert Grint (Harry Potter saga), f. Murray Abraham (Mythical Quest), Crispin Glover (Back to the Future), Ben Barnes (Shadow and Bones), Essie Davis (Miss Fisher), Eric Andre (Disenchanted), as well as French Sophia Butella (Kingsman).
Audiences should expect to discover 8 exciting stories ranging from Maccabi to Magical and from Gothic to Grotesque, including two original stories by Del Toro. Curiosity Cabinet will be available on Netflix in 2022.
