Analysis: Palmeiras improve after second half but once again run into offensive inefficiency

Palmeiras have once again encountered one of the main difficulties this season: the lack of efficiency. This Sunday, in the draw against Internacional, Verdão wasted great chances, which could lead to a peaceful result in Beira-Rio.

As the match began, Palmeiras showed some nervousness. With silly mistakes coming out, Verdão gave Internacional opportunities and took risks they didn’t need.

Defensively, Abel Ferreira opted to use a formation with just three players to play. Piquerez sank to port side and left Murilo, Gustavo Gómez and Marcos Rocha as the last men. Despite this, Internacional made more use of the right side of the Palmeiras defence, mainly thanks to Wanderson’s dribbling.
