Marvel: Actors, Writers’ Strike Threatens MCU Chief’s ‘Perfect Plan’

Hollywood is at a standstill. The cast announced on Thursday evening that along with the writers’ strike, which began almost two months ago, most of the shooting has been halted. It’s time to find an agreement between SAG-AFTRA (the union that represents the artists) and channels, streaming platforms and other studios. This means that no project is moving forward at this time.

So it’s a blow to the Disney juggernaut, and more specifically to Marvel, which currently has Deadpool 3 on the theatrical side and Daredevil: Born Again series on the small Skylight side. Both Presidents Kevin Feige and Louis D’Esposito jointly issued a statement addressing the attackers directly:

We are grateful for all the work you have done on your respective projects and will undoubtedly be disappointed when plans have to change, but these changes are the nature of production. Our teams have no challenges and they know how to meet them. We appreciate the efforts that have been made to resolve the situation and hope that an agreement can be reached quickly so that work can resume.

Also in question is the promotion of Marvel movies and series. According to soon, the house of ideas is already asking for The Marvels , which will be released next November. If the strike continues in Hollywood, none of the three main actors – Brie Larson, Iman Whelan and Teyonah Parris – will be able to give interviews. The same goes for the Disney+ series expected before the end of the year: Loki Season 2 and Echo Season 1.

If Marvel hasn’t already delayed the release of these titles at this point, the teams will once again have to work in tight flow to meet the deadlines if the strike is lifted in the coming weeks. The working conditions have already been condemned by the VXF teams last summer…
