Christopher Nolan definitely deserves the father of the year award: the director asked his eldest daughter, Flora, to make a small appearance in Oppenheimer. A golden opportunity, as the film is among the most anticipated releases of the year – however, the role of the girl is not pleasant at all.
In an interview for The TelegraphNolan said it all started when Flora spent a week visiting the set while filming was still underway. One of the roles was still vacant, and the director had a brilliant idea: to call her daughter to play a girl who, during a nuclear explosion, has a completely disfigured face.
“We needed someone to do that little part of a sequence that was somewhat experimental and spontaneous, so it was wonderful to have his kind of role with it,” explained the director. It is worth mentioning that Flora has already participated in another great success of her father, Interstellar.
