We must pray to the INA that it treasured the television archives. Among its treasures, we’d be remiss to miss out on nuggets like the one on Antenna 2’s news release on October 16, 1985. During the release of Rambo 2: The Mission in France, the channel’s afternoon news, presented by journalist Noel Mamer and not yet an MP, invited a certain Wayne Scott, the official Rambo/Stallone lookalike.
If the person in question answers questions about their relationship with the character and the real Sylvester Stallone in the open, they’ll also break out into a little Rambo-themed song on set.
A pre-recorded sequence, in fact, with extras/attackers beefed up, just to be in the shoes of an ex-Vietnam Green Beret… the result? A great WTF moment as TV has suggested, enjoy below without moderation!
It’s even more delicious to see a similar look in the music video for Rambo, This time we will win. The title, which clearly sounds like revenge for America’s defeat in the Vietnam War, is still far from being recycled in 1985, with the accents of warriors in Reagan’s America…
Wayne Scott was not the real name of this Stallone lookalike, but Joe Gentis, who landed a role as a dwarf in the 1986 SF film directed by the dimwitted Brett Piper, Galaxy Destroyer..
