Jonathan Cohen is a cop and singer in the first images of Prime Video’s new comedy hit

More than a cop, a singer. Jonathan Cohen returns to a brand new role in Sentinel, an Amazon original comedy for which he finds the duo Hugo Benamozzi and David Caviglioli filming him in the spooky jungle.

Produced by 22h22 and Les Films entre 2 et 4, Sentinelle will be released exclusively on Prime Video and in over 240 territories.

The actor portrays Francois Sentinel, a man who leads a double life. By day, he is Reunion Island’s most famous police officer, known for his tough methods and floral shirts, chasing criminals on his famous yellow guard.

But outside (and often during) working hours, the sentinel has another job: a charming singer. All the residents of Reunion danced to “Le Quique”, the hit of his youth is a bit embarrassing today. Fifteen years on, he’s been trying to reconnect with success by making a new album… to no avail.

Because the Sentinel has a hard time choosing between the police and the music. Focused more on concerts and her album release, Sentinelle has nothing to do with the wave of violent crimes that is rocking the island. A figure of the local elite is kidnapped, another is killed. For any police officer, this will be the job of a lifetime. But Sentinel doesn’t really have an investigative head.

Scheduled for September 8 on Prime Video, Sentinel opens today with the first teaser, allowing the public to discover the perfect playground in which Jonathan Cohen will once again make us laugh and wake us up.
