The most difficult action scene for Tom Holland? It’s not in Spider-Man, but this movie is coming to Prime Video!

He’s one of Hollywood’s most popular young actors: Tom Holland started his career at a very young age with the title role in the musical Billy Elliot in 2009 and made his big name in cinema four years later in Juan Antonio Bayona’s The Impossible. Ewan McGregor and Naomi Watts.

But playing the role of Peter Parker, aka Spider-Man in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, the British actor became a planetary star. Even if he also excelled in dramatic registers such as The Lost City of Z, Le Diable, tout le temps, Cherry or more recently The Crowded Room, Tom Holland is an action star.

If Spider-Man gets him a lot of time, it’s not the franchise he’s struggling with the most. The actor actually admitted that the most difficult stunt of his career was not performed on the set of a Marvel movie, but in another action film.

Tom Holland’s toughest action scene

In addition to Peter Parker, Tom Holland played another famous character, this time from the world of video games: Nathan Drake from the Uncharted video game series developed by Naughty Dog and published by Sony Interactive Entertainment. If you missed Uncharted, which hit the box office in France, you can now catch up on the Prime Video platform.

Directed by Ruben Fleischer and released in 2022, Uncharted follows the adventures of Nathan Drake and his mentor, Victor Sullivan (Mark Wahlberg), who go in search of Magellan’s treasure thanks to clues left by Nathan’s brother, Samuel Drake. They travel together to New York, Barcelona or the Pacific Ocean.

Although he’s a huge fan of Uncharted, Tom Holland didn’t know the video game franchise until later thanks to Spider-Man. On the set of Spider-Man: Homecoming, the actor was lucky enough to have a PlayStation in his dressing room and was able to explore the Uncharted games and discover some of the world’s iconic action sequences.

But he really didn’t expect that filming these sequences would be difficult when he donned the costume of a famous explorer and treasure hunter. In a behind-the-scenes video for the film, Tom Holland revealed that the scene where he is thrown from the plane is a sequence. “The hardest thing he’s ever done”.

“The sequence where we fly in the back of the plane and find the boxes – we shot it almost every day for five weeks”he revealed. Sometimes I was almost 30 meters in the air, attached to a rotating box, and then hanging until I lost my balance, and it was really scary.

For Tom Holland, the fear he actually felt during filming makes this scene more authentic. So if you want to (re)discover this sequence, head over to Prime Video, as Uncharted has just hit the platform’s catalog.

The Uncharted movie is now available on Prime Video.
