Star Wars, What’s Happening on Jar Jar? A deleted scene from episode 3 reveals the fate of the saga’s most hated character

To say that the character of Jar Jar Binks was hated by Star Wars fans is an understatement! It was so much that his translator tried to commit suicide. However, his fate in the saga was to be completely different from the one officially presented in the three prelogue films.

A deleted scene from Revenge of the Sith showed them crossing paths with the Emperor. He thanked Jar Jar for bringing him to power and it showed Jar Jar’s evolution from a fun character for children to a manipulative politician.

Recall that in the previous film, Attack of the Clones, Jar Jar initiated a senatorial vote to give full power to Chancellor Palpatine, which authorized, among other things, an army of clones. In Episode III, this absolute power allows him, in particular, to order the destruction of the Jedi in the galaxy.

To the point that in the third episode, the Gungan have almost no answer and are content to be physical without any real narrative impact.
