After the wedding, Shrek and Fiona go on a wonderful honeymoon before returning to their beloved swamp. But when they get there, they are surprised to find a royal invitation: sent by Fiona’s parents, who want to see their daughter once again and meet her son-in-law, she invites them to travel to the kingdom of Fort Fort Lointain.
At the end of this long journey that Shrek and Fiona undertake in the company of a donkey, they are received in a rather icy way. Indeed, King Harold and Queen Lilian were not far behind in marrying Fiona to an ogre, thus retaining their ogre-like appearance themselves.
The Sovereign, intent on turning things around and offering her daughter’s hand to the handsome Prince Charming, then hires a huge mercenary to escape Shrek.
The second opus in the Unspeakable saga, which now has four (a fifth is pending, currently in the works), Shrek 2 is perhaps the most successful in terms of humor. Without the economy of a great story or heart-wrenching romance, this sequel literally combines visual gags, intellectual references, sharp lines and characters who die of laughter.
From its delightful intro sequence (which features Spider-Man, Lord of the Rings, and The Sound of Music in sequence) to its conclusion, Shrek 2 hits the mark every 30 seconds and deftly manages to reuse its predecessor’s best ingredients to push them even further.
Apart from its villain – twice as funny as the first film’s Lord Farquaad – this second installment, above all, introduces us to the now iconic character and whose path has never strayed from Shrek’s path: the irresistible and funny Puss in Boots, with his two big pleading eyes.
If you’ve been looking for an evening of relaxation and laughter with the whole family, you’ve found your program!
What will they like?
- soundtrack and many songs highlighting Shrek’s new adventure: a large number, we have for example Accidentally in love, Waiting for the game, A noisy city or Livin’ la Vida Loca

- All the wonderful secondary characters always accompany the adventures of the green ogre: the donkey, of course, but also Tibby, Pinocchio, the three little pigs and the wolf.
- A boot with boots, of course! Of course, we’ve talked about this before, but it’s undoubtedly one of the film’s greatest qualities.
What might be bothering them:
- Not much, except maybe the odd regular who frequents La Taverne de la Pomme Poisonnée, a slightly seedy little bar where all the villains from fairy tales come to drink.
