At the debut of Group F matches, the same Brazil, Jamaica AND France facing each other. The French were the favourites. After the crisis faced at the beginning of the year, the arrival of a new coach, Hervé Renard, has rekindled the team’s favoritism. But what no one expected is that another manager’s work would draw attention to the match. Lorne Donaldson arrived in Jamaica last year and has been elevating the reggae girlz scene ever since.
France started by imposing the game, but Jamaica were not intimidated. With a team organized and determined not to concede, the Jamaicans managed to keep the score and finished the match 0-0. Another event of the match was the sending off of the main Caribbean player, Khadija Shaw, after a violent foul.

In a frantic game, Sweden AND South Africa opened the day’s games. The Swedish national team is favoured, arriving very strong at the World Cup. However, South Africa showed why this World Cup is considered the greatest of all. The level of competitiveness is high and the South Africans played evenly.
South Africa opened the scoring, but soon after a Sweden own goal tied the game. 20 minutes into the second half, the European team managed to extend their lead and closed the game with a 2-1 victory.

The Portugal women’s national team played its first match of the World Cup this morning, on the 23rd, against the Netherlands. The Portuguese had the difficult task of facing the 2019 world runners-up. As expected, the Dutch started with a lot of pressure and opened the scoring in the opening minutes.
Even from behind, Portugal looked for play and felt no pressure to make their debut against one of the favourites. The match finished 1-0.
