On social media, Ivete Sangalo said she was “very dismayed by what happened”
Trampling and allegations of assaulting revelers marked the passage of the Ivete Sangalo block to Fortal, one of the largest micaretas in the country, which lasts four days in Fortaleza. This Saturday 22nd, an incident on the avenue where the Ivete block passed caused a riot, causing a collective trampling that resulted in injuries. Revelers also reported assaults by security during the event.
The incident occurred as Ivete entered the Corridor da Folia after revelers pushed through the structure separating the blocks. With this action, many revelers were injured. With nowhere to go, some revelers began pushing the security guards who formed a barrier with a sign at the beginning of the block.
People, what a pain to watch this! 🥺
Overcrowded in Ivete’s Village block, lots of comments about lack of organization and lack of respect for revelers. #Fortal2023 pic.twitter.com/FLk63J1Shn

Videos posted on social media show several people being trampled. In a note sent to UOL columnist Lucas Pasin, event organizers said six people were treated at the Fortal outpatient clinic.
In the note, the organization of the event blames the revelers for what happened and cites a “push-push”. “During the episode, six people suffered minor injuries, but were quickly assisted by the security teams. At that moment, the trio was stopped for the time necessary for everything to normalize and the trio’s journey continued normally without discomfort,” reads an excerpt from the statement.
Ivete regrets what happened
Sunday evening, 23rd, Ivete Sangalo commented on the incident. In Instagram Stories, she said she was “very appalled by what happened.”
“I want to show you here how important your safety is to me, my safety, our joy, our presence on the boulevard,” she said.
Block apologizes
In a statement released on Sunday, the Bloco Village, where Ivete performed, said that “there was a break in the structure of the wing that separates the blocks, which resulted in the space intended for revelers being restricted, resulting in injuries to some event participants”.
According to the block, Ivete stopped the trio and “made her team available to lend all possible support, continuing with her presentation only after being informed by block production that the situation was absolutely under control.”
Also according to the organization of the blockade, teams of security guards and rescuers were mobilized to support the wounded.
“Bloco Village sincerely apologizes for what happened, reiterates that it has provided full support to the revelers and guarantees that it is organized and safe so that the revelers can enjoy Sunday in great serenity”. Ivete returns to performing on the block this Sunday evening.
