Fans of The Boys have made up their minds: The show will not be returning due to a writers’ and actors’ strike in Hollywood that is pushing back filming for season four indefinitely.
So you’ll have to wait until you find the crazy superheroes, but remember that the spin-off Gen-V (about young upstart vigilantes) is set to air on Prime Video on September 29th!
But waiting for Season 4 of The Boys doesn’t mean we can’t find the show’s cast in other productions in the meantime! This is especially true of Jack Quaid, Huey’s translator, who is currently in the credits (in a very small role) of the Christopher Nolan film Oppenheimer.
A first in Star Trek history!
But that’s not all, as the 31-year-old actor has also signed on to make a memorable appearance in Season 2 of Star Trek’s Strange New Worlds, which marks an incredible crossover with the prequel to the iconic series… the animated series Star Trek Lower Decks!
Thus, the main character of the program, Jack Quaid, the vocal interpreter of Brad Boemler was offered to embody the latter in flesh and blood during this special episode. Thus, activating the portal allowed the character to jump 120 years into the past and board the iconic USS Enterprise.
This unique crossover between the live-action series and the Star Trek animated production resulted in countless eye-rolls that fans enjoyed, including Captain Jonathan Archer (Scott Bakula), a very strong reference to the hero of the Star Trek Enterprise series.

Or an allusion to the couple formed in the city by Jerry O’Connell (who voices Jack Ransom in Lower Decks) and Rebecca Romijn (interpreter for Una Chin-Riley in Strange New Worlds).
Note also that this crossover episode was directed by the legendary Jonathan Frakes, William Riker’s interpreter on Star Trek: The Next Generation and Picard!
After this special episode, Star Trek Strange New Worlds is set to play the originality card again by airing the very first Star Trek musical episode very soon (which is saying something, with a franchise that has a total of 900 episodes to date, spanning ten series).
Episodes of Star Trek Strange New Worlds are available every Thursday exclusively on Paramount+!
