Palmeiras could receive money in the coming days by involving a former academy puppy. This is defender Pedrão, who has defended Portimonense-POR since 2021. The 26-year-old defender is Besiktas-TUR’s target in this transfer window, and Verdão could earn 25% more than the value of the deal thanks to the stake he still has in the economic rights of the defender.

Pedrão was signed by Palmeiras da Água Santa, where he had excelled in the 2016 Copinha. The defender finished his training at Verdão but ended up on loan at América-MG and Athletico-PR, and then at Nacional-POR. In his first spell in Portuguese football, he gained prominence and returned to the country to play for Portimonense. The loan became a permanent contract in early 2022.

In the negotiations with the Portuguese, the purchase was 50% of the rights, while 25% remained in Alviverde and 25% in Água Santa. In this way, if the agreement with Besiktas comes out, the two Brazilian clubs will receive a part of the agreement, which is about to be implemented, according to the report.

Pedrão’s name entered Besiktas’ list after the Turkish club failed to sign Southampton-ING’s Lyanco, who reportedly failed his medical. The amounts were not disclosed, but the Portuguese press speculate that the fine for the Brazilian defender’s dismissal is around 30 million euros (R$157 million). However, the trade must be less than the settlement amount.

Pedrão has been at Portimonense-POR since mid-2021. Since then he has played 65 games, scored two goals and played two seasons.
