On Thursday, July 21, Netflix released the third season of In the Shadow of the Magnolias. Always under the banner of love, this new flurry of episodes saw Maddie (Joanna Garcia Swisher), Dana Sue (Brooke Elliott) and Helen (Heather Hadley) face many challenges that damaged their beautiful friendship.
As Maddie tries to salvage her relationship with Cal (Justin Bruning), Dana Sue, who figures out how to use Miss Frances’ check to help the community without offending her family, must face a new enemy. On the other hand, Elena was giving her great love one last chance…
the end of the chapter?
If since its inception, In the Shadow of Magnolias has never left the last cliff, which only made us want to see a sequel (we still remember the end of season 1 and his car accident, or even season 2, which ended with a marriage proposal), this season 3 surprised all fans, the writers decided to end on a positive note.
While Dana Sue and Ron’s vow renewal ceremony had its fair share of events, the final moments felt eerily like the end of a chapter, and not just for the couple.

Whatever punctuation is chosen, Season 3 certainly wrapped up a lot of intrigue that was left unresolved for several episodes, but there’s still plenty of drama to explore in the small town of Serenity. Is it enough to get season 4?
Is a season 4 possible?
At this time, Netflix has not yet announced if A l’ombre des Magnolias will return for a 4th season. Unlike many other fiction on the platform, such as Virgin River, which has been renewed for two more seasons, the fate of the series, therefore, is not yet certain.
Nothing to worry about though! The second season was announced two months after the release of the first episodes, and the third season became official three months after the previous one. If there will be a season 4, Netflix should announce it in the coming weeks.
