Becker is cleared
Early in the morning, Allen reads Mark Mowry’s latest article to Elizabeth, in which he claims that Home F34’s manager bribed an official to order a quick eviction with complete disregard for the most basic safety rules. Elizabeth is overwhelmed.
Geoffroy and Gaylar were arrested following Mark Moore’s accusations. Judge Laplace examines the attaché of the prefecture. He shows her a photo where we see her exchanging an envelope with the owner of the property company.
Laurent Geoffroy disputes and ensures that all these allegations are pure slander. The judge approves. He verified the journalist’s statements and pushes Geoffroy to confess. In the corner, the prefectural attache recognizes the facts.
At the police station, Aline Roux realizes that Clement Becker was right. He is glad that Ripu is not on their side and finds it appalling that the official used the police to further his interests. Ellis and Akeem are relieved that Becker is free.
In turn, Elizabeth and Francois Laumiere meet Claudine. Laumiere assures them that the auditor has confirmed that the money used by the manager of the property company to corrupt Laurent Geoffroy did not come from the property company. He used his own money.
Part of the income depended on the profits of the land company. The more he collected, the more money he made. Claudine advises them to keep their shares in the company because they have nothing to fear. Elizabeth and Laumiere decide to follow his advice.
Not far from there, Janet and Clement receive Sabine and Enzo for an aperitif. They toast Commissioner Becker’s active life. If the latter is happy, he does not forget that the man died during this operation.
Father Silvio’s worrying state of health
Jennifer is late at the hospital. He forgot to wash the patient early in the morning, but he made up for it. He takes Yasmin in stride, noting that Lauryn, luckily, hadn’t arrived yet.
François Laumiere’s daughter listens to their conversation, but sympathizes with the young woman. In his eyes, the most important thing is that the supervision has been improved. An attitude that surprises many Jennifers.
A little later, Jennifer brings lunch to Father Silvio with a smile. The priest’s words gave her confidence and she decided to retake the nursing exam. She thanks Father Silvio for his support. Jennifer then tells her that Lauryn was nice to her this morning. He is happy to understand.
Lorin then comes to check on the constancy of the priest, who notes that the young woman seems more relaxed than last time. He is glad. Father Silvio reminds her that he is there if she needs to talk. Lauryn takes this badly and asks him to leave her alone. She leaves the room upset and hides in the living room crying.
Janet, on the other hand, discusses Father Silvio’s health with Allen. Its results are not good. Janet is attached to the priest and has to tell him the bad news. Allen offers to let her do it, but she prefers not to because she feels it’s up to her to do it.
Janet comes in to tell Father Silvio that the MRI shows he has a significant pericardial effusion. The accumulation of fluid in his pericardium compresses the heart and prevents proper breathing.
They will have to do a biopsy of the myocardium. Then he will find the most suitable treatment. As a last resort, a heart transplant may be considered. Janet advises Father Silvio to stay positive and fighting.
Later, Christophe comes to Father Silvio. The latter shares his fear of death. Kristoff tries to reassure her: he’s been there and he’s living proof that everything will be okay.
Night has come when Kristoff goes to church. He falls to his knees and prays that Father Silvio lives because he needs him. He is convinced that he and Father Silvio are destined to do the same thing.
Father Silvio heals his conscience by doing good while eliminating evil. Each of them is half of the whole. Kristof begs God not to separate them.
