A children’s book written in 1936 by Monroe Leaf The story of Ferdinand It was adapted into a Walt Disney short film two years later. It is approximately 8 minutes long and is directed by legendary animators including Ward Kimball, Jiminy the Cricket creator in Pinocchio and the Cheshire Cat from Alice in Wonderland. The Oscar-winning short is best remembered for its high-quality engineering and unconventional values.
Indeed, the story is about Ferdinand, a bull with a big heart, a victim of his imposing appearance. Accidentally captured and cut off from his native village, he is still determined to find his family and his roots. Then he embarks on an incredible adventure in Spain accompanied by the craziest teams!
In 2017, this time Blue Sky studio took up this tale for a new cinematic adaptation, a feature film. Realization was entrusted to Brazilian Carlos Saldanha, who already worked on the successful Ice Age trilogy, as well as Rio 1 and 2.
This is an opportunity to rediscover this glorious anthem of tolerance for a whole new generation.
