Medical serials have become real monuments of the television world for several years now. Who can say today that they have never watched a single episode of Gray’s Anatomy or ER? These two serials, which are constantly broadcast on TNT channels, have been celebrated by several generations of serial lovers.
Although the genre has been around for decades, it got a second windfall in the early 2000s with the release of Scrubs, Nip / Tuck and Dr House. Even today, every year, at least one medical series is opened almost always with great success. A good doctor, a new Amsterdam and resident, to this day, everyone has managed to find their audience in an innovative way.
And if the United States stays on the reference issue, other countries will not be left out. Many in France have tried this more or less successfully. We still remember Nédecins de nuit, aired in 1978 and 1986, H, Nina and, more recently, Hippocrates, a Thomas Lilt series that shows the less stellar side of the profession.
Italy also got involved and offered us the 2020 Doc, a medical series that very quickly sparked the viewer’s real enthusiasm.
