Episode 1 of “Ms Marvel” has arrived and made it clear that the way Kamala Khan, Ms Marvel, gets her powers is different in the series is different from the comics.

Kamala Khan comic fans may have been disappointed with the way the young heroine gained her powers in the new Disney + series, “Ms Marvel”.
It’s just that Kamala Khan has inhuman DNA in the comics, which is activated when Black Bolt, a character who appeared in “Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness”, releases a substance called Terrigen Mist into the planet’s atmosphere.
After being exposed to the substance, young Kamala Khan discovers that she has powers such as super strength and the ability to grow her limbs (we see this in the first episode of the series).
In the series, however, Kamala seems to acquire her powers, or at least channel them, through a bracelet that belonged to her grandmother. Although the power to enlarge her members appears to be preserved in the series, she appears to have some sort of cosmic force.
Also, there is no sign that Kamala in the series is inhumane, which makes her very different from the comic book character.
The first episode of “Ms Marvel” is titled “Generation” Why? Avengers fans, with her best friend Bruno (Matt Lintz).
Kamala’s parents even allow her to go, but as long as she is with her father and is wearing her mother’s Hulk-inspired costume. But instead, she runs out the window and puts on the costume of her favorite hero, Captain Marvel, to try and win the VingaCon cosplay competition.
However, trying to add her own touch to the look, she finds a bracelet that belonged to her grandmother in the attic of the house. When she manages to put the bracelet on, a cosmic energy appears rising on her arm, Kamala’s eyes change color and she takes a little walk into what appears to be another dimension.
But it doesn’t all end in glory and power, as she is unaware of her powers and ends up causing an accident and a huge mess at the convention, before escaping, only to be found by her mom trying to sneak into the bedroom.
A scene immediately following the opening credits indicates that Kamala has already attracted the attention of the subsidiary government organization “SHIELD” “Damage Control”, represented by Meet P. Cleary (Arian Moayed), whom we have already seen before in “Spider – Man: No Homecoming ”and MCU newcomer Sadie Deever (Alysia Reiner).
Episode 1 of “Ms Marvel” is now available on Disney +. Episode 2 arrives next Wednesday, June 15th.
