Suicide Squad (2016) was quite different from what David Ayer originally planned – and had a lot of studio interference
After the successful launch of Justice League by Zack Snyderalso known as snyder cutat HBO Max in 2021, several fans of A.D in theaters began to ask that Warner released the original version that David Ayer had to Suicide squad (2016) – and James Gunn would have guaranteed it.
In a post on Twitter, a follower made fun of Ayer, which has always been favorable to the release of his cut, for promoting a “film released in 2016.” In response, the filmmaker vented and talked about the work.
“What’s your advice for getting through this situation gracefully? A lot of people have genuine curiosity and interest, and I’m aware that there’s another group of people who have fun messing around with the film,” he said. “Your comment is a perfect example of how many are magnetically drawn to the discussion of the 2016 film in a negative light.”
Have you ever had an experience in life that didn’t turn out the way you wanted, that dragged you down and made you rethink everything? I had.
“All I know is that my unreleased film is so much better than what the studio released. The interest in showing my cut feels real and organic,” he continued. David Ayer. “AND [James] Gunn told me that the time will come for it to be shared. He absolutely deserves to launch his universe A.D no more drama about old projects.”
“In a way, I’m chained to this thing. I’m riding a tiger here and getting through this situation as best I can. Life is a very strange journey,” concluded the director on the social network.
What’s your advice on how to navigate this situation with grace? There’s a genuine curiosity and interest from a lot of people. And I’m aware of there is another group of people that have fun mocking the film. Your comment is a perfect example of how many are magnetically drawn… https://t.co/QZTZGUInAS
