Netflix has released a game controller app for iPhone and iPad. Called “Netflix Game Controller”, the idea of the app – which should be free – is to improve the gaming experience of a title available in the streaming service’s catalog.
For those in a hurry:
Despite already being launched, the application has very little information available about its App Store page, the Apple app store. Check out the app description below:
Coming soon on Netflix. Play on your TV with the Netflix Game Controller. This app pairs with your TV and lets you play Netflix using your phone or tablet.
The “coming soon” means that the app is available on the App Store, but you can’t use it on the streaming service yet.
Up until this release, the company hadn’t disclosed which games the app will support, details on the pairing process, or a forecast of when it should launch for Android phones.
Netflix and gaming

The streaming company has also grown as an independent game publisher. To give you an idea, Netflix Games has published or hosted nearly 70 titles in the past two years.
Some of these you can access in the Netflix app. Others are available on video game consoles and mobile devices.
Among the titles arriving on the Netflix platform in the coming months are the independent “Storytellers”, “Paper Trail” and the series “Monument Valley”.
There is also a game in the ‘Assassin’s Creed’ series in the works, along with a ‘Lego: Legacy Heroes Unboxed’ version.
It is assumed that you will be able to play at least some of these titles using the “Netflix Game Controller” application. Let’s wait.
