PSG set the selling price for Neymar, who wants to leave the club

The French newspaper ‘L’Équipe’ informed this Wednesday morning that Paris Saint-Germain has already finalized the sale price of Brazilian star Neymar: 150 million euros (the equivalent of R$ 806 million) in this market window.

Neymar has presented a request to the Paris council to be sold in August. With the farewell of Lionel Messi and the hoped-for sale of Kylian Mbappé, who can leave for free in 2024, PSG would immediately lose their three stars. The request took the agents by surprise, given that the Brazilian was supposed to remain in France under the guidance of the new coach, Luis Enrique, with whom he triumphed for years in Spanish football and reached the top of Europe.

Before the arrival of Luis Enrique, however, the number 10 was already evaluating an exit. The PSG ultras even gathered in front of his home door to protest and demand his departure, just like they did with Lionel Messi inside the Parc des Princes. After Luis Enrique’s announcement, the situation calmed down and the star seemed at ease, with a positive return to the field in the victory against Jeonbuk Hyundai, where he scored two goals and provided an assist for Asensio.

Of the clubs interested in signing him, Saudi Al-Hilal is the one with the best conditions to close the deal. With the support of the local public investment fund, Jorge Jesus’ club aims to offer him a contract worth 80 million euros a year, 26 million more than what is received in the French capital. Chelsea have also expressed interest, but need to analyze value first; a return to Barcelona is hoped for by the athlete, but the financial conditions of the Catalans would require a sharp reduction of the current salary, valued at 54 million in European currency.

Last season, Neymar was in top form and there was great anticipation for the Champions League knockout round contest, but an injury in February sidelined him until his return for a friendly against the Korean side. In all, in 2022-23, there have been 29 games for the club, registering 18 goals and 17 assists.
