Head of Warner Bros. wants Barbie to spend more time in theaters
Barbie it may take some time to reach home screens. David Zaslav, head of Warner Bros.discovery wants the film to stay in theaters longer and says it will only be available on streaming HBO (MAX) at the end of the year.
In an interview with the portal The Wrap (according to ScreenRant), Zaslav estimated that the film will be available on the (American) platform between the end of September and December of this year.
“We really believe in showing this movie in theaters. We’re going to let this movie live a long life in theaters, building its brand, and then release it on rental and purchase platforms. Once Barbie goes through this whole process, it’s been working forever for our releases, we’ll be putting it on HBO Max,” said David.
the intention of Warner in keeping the feature longer in theaters and guaranteeing the maximum audience after so long waiting for this release, which has been breaking several records since it opened.
