“One day when I was working on a play in London, I got a call from Los Angeles at 3:00 in the morning. Marta Kaufman (Maker of Friends, Editor’s Note)He wanted to talk to me about a script called ‘Six One.’Jon Cryer told James Corden at the microphone. “I told him that was interesting, and he said he wanted me for Chandler Bing’s character.”

“The next day I went to an audition in London. I did everything”continues the actor. “The tape was me doing my best Chandler Bing. The tape was sent to LA, but it got stuck in customs.” In the end, the famous tapes were never found, and Jon Cryer’s hopes of starring in the series were gone…
