Thales vibrates with the first goal for PSS Sleman, from Indonesia

A player for PSS Sleman since April when he left CSA, defender Thales scored his first goal for the club last Tuesday (8), for the seventh round of the Indonesian league. The goal secured PSS Sleman’s 3-2 victory over Persikabo and, moreover, meant the defender’s first win for teams outside Brazil. In 2020, Thales was a player of Ankaraspor, Turkey.

PSS Sleman de Thales are currently in twelfth place in the Indonesian Liga 1, with two wins, three draws and two defeats in seven matches. Despite his short spell at the club, the Brazilian has already established himself as one of the team’s leaders and has been a regular in all of the team’s matches in the competition. In three of them, Thales was chosen to be part of the selection of the eleven best players in the group, including him, in this last round, in which he scored a goal.

At the age of 30, the defender played for important Brazilian football clubs, such as Internacional, Bahia, Atlético Goianiense, CSA, Vitória, Criciúma, Paraná Clube, Guarani and Operário Ferroviário. In 2023 he defended the Alagoas club in the state championship disputes, Copa do Nordeste and Copa Alagoas, and scored one goal. On the occasion, Thales carried the ball alone from the defense field, crossing the entire field until he scored the fourth goal in the 4-0 defeat against CSA on Murici.

The Brazilian’s next match with PSS Sleman is scheduled for August 13, at 5:00 Brasilia time (15:00 local time), against Bhayangkara FC, at Stadion Maguwoharjo, located in Yogyakarta, Indonesia.
