Now it’s official: Vasco have announced that they have reached an agreement for a pre-contract with former Olympique de Marseille attacking midfielder Dimitri Payet. Through social media, Cruzmaltino reported that the Frenchman will arrive in Rio de Janeiro “in the next few days” to undergo medical examinations and sign definitively with the club.
The 36-year-old player becomes not only the new number 10 of the Rio de Janeiro team, but also the main signing of alvinegros for the season.

Vasco can arrange the arrival of Dimiti Payet even with the window already closed, as the French midfielder has not been linked to any club since his contract with Olympique de Marseille expired. Players without federation rights tied to squads can be signed until August 25.
In this way, Cruzmaltino has until September 15 to sign his new reinforcement for the dispute of the Brazilian championship. In his last season with the French national team, the athlete played 27 matches, scored four goals and distributed three assists.
The attacking midfielder arrives to give a new face to Vasco, who is doing poorly in the Brasileirão. The club is currently in 19th place in the domestic tournament, with 12 points from 17 matches.
