Produced by Ryan Murphy and Ian Brennan, the Monster anthology series chronicles the journeys and exploits of criminals who have marked the history of the United States.
If the first season was interested in the fate of Jeffrey Dahmer, nicknamed the “Milwaukee Cannibal”, the second season will explore the complicated relationship between brothers Lyle and Eric Menendez, who are responsible for the murder of their parents in 1989.
Who will star in season 2?
Who says new season means new actors. In fact, Evan Peters — who doesn’t want to play dark characters for a while — won’t be back, as will the rest of the cast.
To portray the two Menendez brothers, Ryan Murphy and Ian Brennan focused on young actors Cooper Koch and Nicholas Alexander Chavez. The former has already starred in two major horror films, They/Them and Swallowed. The other has a recurring role on the American daily series Central Hospital.
What is it?
On the evening of August 20, 1989, two brothers from a wealthy family, Lyle and Eric Menendez, killed their parents with a gun in cold blood. They decide to leave the house, throw away the gun and go to the cinema. Shortly before midnight, they return home and call the police, posing as victims of a horrific crime.
The Menendez family’s fortune – 14 million dollars – is theirs, and the brothers spend the money in just a few months. Their behavior raises doubts in the government. After confessing to a psychologist, Lyle Menendez was arrested on March 8, 1990. His brother surrendered three days later.
The Menendez case becomes a national saga spanning several years. The perpetrators, who say their actions are a response to sexual and psychological abuse by their father, were sentenced in 1996 to life in prison without the possibility of parole.
The story does not end there. In April 2023, a 51-year-old man named Roy Rossello claims he was drugged and raped at the age of 14 by Jose Menendez, the father of the two brothers, confirming their version.
To announce this new season, the Netflix platform has already released a teaser that includes a recording of the Menendez brothers’ call to the police on the evening of August 20, 1989. Terrifying.
Release date: When is MONSTER season 2 coming out?
Originally, Season 2 was announced for 2024, of course, in the fall, just like Season 1. However, the writers’ and actors’ strike has to delay the shooting, which is scheduled for September. The release date is still unknown.

Like its season 1, this new chapter of Monster will be available on Netflix.
Will there be a suite?
Phenomenal success Monster – Story by Jeffrey Dahmer started this new season and turned the Monster miniseries into an anthology series. If the craze is confirmed by season 2, it’s a safe bet that season 3 will be launched by the platform.
