Transitioning between the imaginary and the real, the new Barbie movie shares the imaginary pink universe with not-so-glamorous American modern life. Getting into the mood of the film, astrophysicist Neil deGrasse Tyson set out to decipher the possible location of “Barbieland”.
Second Omelettethe expert claims that “Barbielândia” would be located in the archipelago region of Florida, in the United States – based on the analysis of the information obtained in the feature film.
“In the film Barbie, the orientation of the moon places ‘Barbieland’ between 20 and 40 degrees north of Earth’s latitude. Palm trees limit the latitude between 20 and 30 degrees. The sun and moon rise and set in the ocean. If it’s in the US, Barbieland is somewhere in the Florida Keys,” Tyson tweeted. Watch:
