The army’s monthly salary was only R$24,000, paid by the army and the federal government.
The former aide-de-camp of former President Jair Bolsonaro (PL), Sergeant Luis Marcos dos Reis, transferred at least 3.3 million reais to his accounts between February 2022 and January 2023, according to a report by the Coaf (Financial Activities Control Board).
The military man’s monthly salary was only R$24,000, paid by the army and the federal government, i.e. the amounts are well above the sergeant’s salaries. The details of the documents were revealed by Folha.
According to a report sent to the CPI on January 8, the army has transferred more money than it should have received on record and this could be used to circumvent the origin and destination of the illegally transferred funds.
He has been arrested since May, in an operation investigating the fraudulent entry of data into Bolsonaro’s vaccination card. At the time, the head of the Assistance Orders of the Presidency, Lieutenant Colonel Mauro Cid was also arrested.
According to Coaf, the sergeant received BRL 1,501,767.00 and debited BRL 1,459,300.00 from the same Banco do Brasil account, between February 1, 2022 and January 20 of this year. During the transactions, 215 operations were carried out through Pix for a total of over R$ 336 thousand, 49 withdrawals, for an amount of R$ 22 thousand, and 39 transfers of an unspecified nature reaching R $ 24 thousand.
For DOC (Credit Order Document) and TED (Available Electronic Transfer) transactions, R$ 694.5 thousand was reported over an 11-month period.

The report also revealed that the sergeant himself benefited the most from the transactions, in other accounts that would have his name as the holder. Mauro Cid, received at least R $ 70,000 from his colleague in four deposits. Other soldiers are also cited by the Coaf as beneficiaries of transfers from Dos Reis.
“The main credit and debit items refer to transactions involving the owner himself and natural persons and companies from different fields, of which we point out Mauro Cesar Barbosa Cid, already mentioned in the communication of suspicious transactions and for which there is media discredit on alleged involvement in the crime of money laundering,” reads an excerpt from the agency’s report.
Even after leaving the government in January this year, a former aide-de-camp received R$11,700 in a wire transfer made by Mauro Cid. In addition, he made debits of R $ 213,294.00, but another R $ 167,418.00 entered his account.
“Considering the atypical movement, without a clear justification and the discrediting quotes in the media, both of the analyzed [Reis] how much of the sender of the resource [Cid]we communicate for the possibility of constituting evidence of the crime of money laundering, or related to it”, reads the document.

Dos Reis is one of those mentioned in the dialogues obtained by the Federal Police (PF) on the possibility of a possible coup. For example, he sent his interlocutors several images of the coup in Brasilia, which can prove his participation on January 8th.
