Almost 10 years since his last film, The Wind Rises, Hayao Miyazaki will soon return to The Boy and the Heron – his last work before his well-deserved retirement. The Japanese director, who chose not to reveal anything before the film’s release, has apparently reviewed his copy.
A feature film released in Japan on July 14 tricked viewers into thinking they were in a “dream” where they saw “David Lynch on Ghibli.” These first thoughts have French fans trembling with impatience, who can no longer wait for the release date in France.
There is currently no information on this topic; However, the wait should not be too long. While we wait, fans of the Japanese studio can enjoy the first visuals of the feature film, presented in a promotional booklet distributed in Japan.

The least we can say is that these images are at their purest Miyazaki style, reminiscent of the sublime sketches of his past works, from Princess Mononoke to Spirited Away to Howl’s Moving Castle.

You can find all these photos on the Ghibli.fr website and be amazed! To remind you, The Boy and the Heron follows a young boy who has to live with his uncle after the death of his father. The experience will lead to a spiritual change in the hero.
If Miyazaki has promised not to reveal the trailer before the film’s release, he may be breaking this rule of exploitation in France. We’ll have to wait until we know more. We’ll be sure to let you know when the release date is announced!
