The Golden Globes, traditional awards for the best in film and television, may not be broadcast in 2024. The event is scheduled for January 7, but no broadcaster has agreed to buy the rights. The organization responsible for the awards, a for-profit entity run by Dick Clark Productions, broke its contract with NBC after a financial disagreement.
According to the magazine Rolling stone, CBS Networks, Fox, Netflix, Amazon, ABC/Disney+/Hulu and Apple TV+, as well as the Turner Networks (from TNT and TBS channels) and the Roku channel declined to air next year’s edition. All cited the high asking price for Dick Clark Productions.
