Detran.RJ accepts registrations for free training courses for motor couriers and motorbike taxis. 30 vacancies are offered for each of the courses, with classes held between the 21st and 28th at the agency’s headquarters, Av. Presidente Vargas 817, in downtown Rio. Those interested should register on the website www.detran.rj. gov.br/ .
The courses are aimed at motorcyclists who intend to carry out motorcycle taxi and dispatcher activities driving motorbikes and scooters. Established by Law 12009/09 and governed by Resolution CONTRAN n. 930/2022, the course aims to enable professional motorcyclists to acquire knowledge, standardize actions and attitudes in the field of road safety.
The lessons for motorbike taxi drivers take place in the morning, from 8:00 to 12:30, while those for freight motorcyclists take place in the afternoon, from 13:00 to 17:30. The workload of each of the courses is 30 hours. A practical lesson will also be held at Governor Marcello Alencar’s post, located on Estrada de Tubiacanga, s/nº, on Ilha do Governador.

After passing the course, the student must take an electronic theory test, which is a requirement of Contran. For this the student must pay a DUDA (Single Collection Document) code 202-0 and schedule the test on the website – Requirements to enroll in the Detran.RJ courses motor courier and motorbike taxi
- Be at least 21 years of age;
- Be qualified for at least two years in category A;
- Do not serve the penalty of suspension of the right to drive and revocation of the driving license for a traffic offence;
- Submit an original and current Vehicle Registration and License Certificate (CRLV), with a vehicle in your name. If the student will use a third-party vehicle, you must present the updated motorcycle document and the authorization for this purpose.
